You can also set it for different times of the day. My ring box found the wi-fi signal within five minutes even though according to the instructions it could take from fifteen minutes to an hour. You can set all kinds of different tones and the tone is so loud you can hear it from upstairs or downstairs. So I had to pay another $35 for this chime box. The tone without the box is very faint and barely noticeable on the phone. Make sure that if you purchase the Ring chime 2nd generation that it also comes with the chime plug in. So in the long run I did not get that good of a deal by buying the doorbell for the price I paid. The one I originally ordered was the doorbell but unfortunately the exterior- plug in chime did come come with it.
